Plum Practicewear

Plum Practicewear is a bold gymnastics apparel brand where I worked for nearly six years. When I initially joined the company, I started in a position outside of design before eventually becoming a print designer. In this role, I studied fashion design and researched trends rigorously. The position offered creative freedom but was demanding, requiring constant adaptation to the fast-changing world of fashion. It gave me an opportunity to refine my illustration skills as well as look deeper into color theory

Over time, I transitioned into a marketing designer position, where I expanded my skill set to create weekly emails, posts and reals for social media, print materials like flyers as well as posters, packaging for products, and website banners. I would push Plum’s marketing designs with motion concepts when I could and use fresh techniques to keep users engaged. I also explored user interface design, occasionally remapping the website to improve customer experience. This role allowed me to merge creativity with strategy, ensuring Plum’s branding remained fresh and engaging across all platforms.

My experience in fashion design with Plum Practicewear was unexpected but incredibly rewarding. Throughout my studies, I never envisioned working in apparel, yet I found myself deeply immersed in the process—studying garment construction, researching trends, and designing prints that would eventually come to life. There’s a unique sense of triumph in seeing a design I created fitted on an athlete, transforming from a digital concept to a tangible, performance-ready piece. It was a fast-paced and demanding field, but the creative freedom and the impact of seeing my work in motion made it an unforgettable part of my career.
